GUEST ARTISTS 2021
In celebration of FRIEZE London, artists Rana Begum, Emily Buck and Mimi Shodeinde display their incredible works at our 9 Mount Street store.
In celebration of FRIEZE London, artist Rana Begum brings her unique language of minimalist abstraction to ROKSANDA 9 Mount Street. Following our most recent AW20 show collaboration, in which she created the bespoke art piece No. 976 Net, she introduced two more beautiful artworks to our flagship store, Floats No. 838 and 839.
Floats No. 838 and 839 explore the connection between the fluidity of light and the duality of materials, where objects are seen contrary to the way we expect them to behave. Despite being constructed from Italian marble and metal, these works appear weightless, delicately drifting in space, creating an otherworldly sensory experience for the viewer.
– Emily Buck –
Artist and Ceramic sculptor Emily Buck brings her unique and elegant hand-built stoneware sculptures to Roksanda’s flagship store in Mayfair. Each unique stoneware sculpture is made by hand from raw materials, reinterpreting ancient forms for a modern audience and setting women and the vessel in the title role. Her sculpture has a pure, peaceful and elegant beauty with a strong feminine and dynamic aesthetic.
– Mimi Shodeinde –
British Nigerian artist and designer Mimi Shodeinde introduces her fluid, functional art pieces that draw on her diverse influences and background to manipulate the use of space through both form and placement. Using a palette of material, textures and surfaces, sculptural forms are cultivated, using traditional methods of construction and craft.
